I'm so happy I purchased these! I have been looking for good quality, Large calf fitting rain boots since my "Thurloe" Hunter Boots crapped out on me exactly one year after purchasing (and right after the warranty expired). They cracked right across my toes and were useless. These boots feel a million times the quality of those hunters. The rubber feels much stronger, the lining is super soft, & the sole is very strong and shock absorbing making for a very comfortable walk.I have a very hard time purchasing rubber boots as I have a 17 inch calf. Even the "wide" version of the hunter boots (huntress) wont work on my legs & I received a free pair of Bog Rain boots that I can't wear for any distance (I walk the dog hours a day) or my legs get very sore. These though are PERFECT didn't even need to adjust the laces and they just slipped right on! I went for a 45 min walk and felt great when I got home!I did find that my usual size 10 is about a half size too big. I'm fine with this as I plan on wearing thick socks for the winter and I will put in an insole for the spring.I also love the fact that not everyone has these like the hunters.HIGHLY Recommend!Love these. They are so comfortable I can walk in them all day. And right out of the box too, which is nice for a change. Keep my feet nice and dry on wet days and I feel quite stylish in them. I've gotten many compliments on these beautiful boots. While a normal size calf will fit just fine (it's not sloppy in my opinion), there is a lot of extra room for a large calf with the way the laces/top of the boot work.I anticipate wearing these for many years as they are very well made. Can't say enough good things about these boots, very happy with my purchase.I was a bit hesitant about these shoes due to a review re: men's vs women's sizing, but I'm a size 11 women's and ordered the "41 M EU / 11 B(M) US" and it was correct! I had no problem slipping them on and off, and the metal circle in the back is much sturdier than the fabric strip in the back of a pair of Dr. Martens. What surprised me was the lightness of the boot; the sole isn't as thick or heavy as a Dr. Martens pair of boots; we'll see how that holds up. Otherwise, I love these boots and I'm already thinking of buying another pair!I bought these boots for my 24 year old daughter. She LOVES them. She was pleasantly surprised with the warm, soft lining. You can adjust the boots easily around the ankle and calves, creating a better fit. These boots are absolutely beautiful. The only complaint I have is they scuff easily. My daughter wore them for 24 hours and they had scuffs all over the toes (we have had rain for weeks now so she has been wearing them everywhere she goes). I would recommend you purchase some type of protectant with the boots to combat against scuffs and scratches.I loved the boots and the lining is the best. The rubber feels very high quality. I did return them though because the shaft is really wide, which is part of the look, but felt a little clunky. I would have kept them if my calves were skinny, cause the bulk would look so cute. But my calves are athletic and i ended up purchasing le Chameau boots that are fitted through the ankles, which is more slimming :) I did email my friend and tell her to buy them though :)I just got my new boots and am very pleased. This is the second pair in the family. My daughter has the tall brown ones and I now have the shorter beige ones. We both wear the same size so I know by the look on her face when I opened the box that mine would go missing from the boot closet from time to time. The style is timeless, the fit is good and the quality is there. I am so pleased I was able to get mine at half off. I will never have to buy another pair of rain boots again. Cute too! These are such beautiful rain boots. I bought a pair last year in a boutique for full price ($189). These were purchased as a Christmas gift for my mother in law. So pleased with the quality. I was a bit skeptical since I saved so much money ordering online, but was so pleased with the quality. My mother in law LOVED them... but unfortunately they were a bit on the small side for her. I will be re-ordering the right size :)They are comfortable, I'd say they run 1/2 size big but it is ok because I can wear heavyweight socks. They are ok for wide feet. The color is not that bright as in the picture. I've bought mine with a good discount but definitely won't buy for the full price. My opinion is - they are overpriced.I just found these boots while cleaning out the garage today, and, remembering how disappointed I had been when I got and used them I thought I'd put a review here as a warning. These are definitely a very beautiful pair of boots, but the pair we got were too fragile.A couple of the metal hooks at the top of the boot that the white laces are meant to go through started breaking off within a couple of months of use. That left the whole look of the boot slightly ruined.Kept wearing them, the next issue was with the glue that binds the flaps of the boot at the front - you can see from the picture that the laces bind together a flap on each side of a boot - within less than a year of use the bottom part of both flaps had come off both boots. The remaining lace hooks also rusted. So within a year they looked terrible. That's when the boots were banished to the garage and replaced. It is possible that the boots work for light use (we live in the countryside).I was going to give them 2 stars because they are really, really, cool looking and maybe they work in the city if you're only wearing them very occasionally, but then I remembered the price - at this price you expect a boot that you can actually use and that will last longer than a year, so just 1 star for these and buyer beware.Best Wellington ever. So easy to put on for ladies with plumper, love that word, legs. The laces open very wide, with a gusset that stops water getting in.But I am devastated as they are too big in the foot for me. I am a 5.1/2 so bought the 6 when I only needed a 5 in this make of boot and Amazon don't have that size in stock. I have always bought the famous British country style boots, you know who I mean, but these are a serious contender as they do not make a boot so easy to get on as this one. There is plenty of leg room making it easy to get the foot in place but do not look like wellies for heavier legs. They lace up very easily, are really on trend and I am now on a mission to find a pair that fits.Quite happy with these, they come up big, which is handy as the lining is pretty thin, so I would advise thick socks, tested them out in quite a few puddles successfully, you could feel the cooler water temp though through the rubber. The lacing allows you to tuck in jeans easily without spoiling the tidy look of the boot, plenty of room.Overall I find them to be a better quality than my Hunters, but not as warm as my Bogs, and smarter looking than either.I would happily wear them anywhere. There are great colour choices and it is a pity there aren't more stockists as I'd love to try the other styles.Love love love these. Kept my feet nice and dry. The only downside for me is I suffer with painful soles. There really is no real insole. However I didn't take off any stars for this as it's an issue with me. Look great on and believe it or not I'm always being asked where I got them. Gone are the days of plain old slip on wellies.Really like them. Comfortable enough to walk over an hour. Looks stylish.
